Focus on accident black spots
Our current Safety Highlight presents a focus area from occupational safety in more detail. We explain in detail what needs to be taken into account in this area so that you can get through your working day safely.
Current: Dangers in winter!

Attention in ice and darkness!
Protect others and yourself! Especially in the dark season, people are difficult to recognize. This can cause accidents that can harm not only you, but also your colleagues. To avoid this, wearing work clothes with reflectors – especially a reflective safety jacket – is necessary.
Attention to danger of slipping! Icy and wet surfaces on the premises can also be a hazard, as you can slip or fall on them. Especially cold temperatures, snow and frequent rain in winter make this a daily hazard. Therefore, clearing and using official paths is mandatory.
Here you will find important rules that you must follow for a safe working day in winter.
7 rules for a safe winter

Stay on the right track
Wet, snowy and icy conditions present an increased risk of slipping on the company premises. Therefore, pay particular attention to wet or icy surfaces.

Always visible with reflectors
Wear the reflective safety jacket not only when performing your duties, but at all times in all areas on the premises.

Talk it up
Speak to your colleagues if they are wearing their reflective protective clothing incorrectly or not at all.

Keep the perspective
The windows of your vehicle often ice up or fog up during the cold season. Clear your vehicle windshield of ice, fog or dirt before you drive off. This applies to vehicles on and off the premises.

Check your walking routes
Always search the used walkway for wet or icy spots before starting an activity. Remove snow and ice to prevent slip-and-fall accidents.

Talk to each other
During winter repairs, many employees from partner companies who speak different languages are at the plant. Therefore, the common exchange is important to have the same level of knowledge about the work to be done.

Take care of
Your safety jacket
Store your safety jacket in a clean place. If the reflectors are dirty, clean them or replace the jacket.
